Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

It's a shame this Manga doesn't have an anime adaptation. The art-style would've made for the perfect 2000s feeling. I genuinely enjoyed the Manga and restrained myself from binge-reading it. For positives, the characters, setting and monster of the week format are all executed well. I was looking forward to see their stories progress and interweave, if anything... My biggest problem comes from the fact that their development were often rushed. The Manga has a time-skip around 30 chapters in, and several characters that were relevant then, are suddenly no longer relevant, with most of their development happening off-screen and being shown in flashbacks. Its rushed pacing is thisManga's biggest flaw. Which becomes especially noticeable in the finale. I remember reaching the end of Vol. 10, which had an interesting story development only to realize I had just a single volume left, with seemingly no build-up towards the climax. The ending itself wasn't bad, but it did come fast and left many plot threads unfulfilled, which retroactively made the Manga worse for me. If the Manga had another Volume, then this approach would've worked much better, otherwise the author should've placed the time-skip around the halfway point.

All in all this was a good read, but I sadly cannot call it fantastic.
