Review of Samurai Champloo
If Cowboy Bebop wasn't a thing, Samurai Champloo would probably be it for me. It gave me a super cool style and hip-hop vibe that I didn't know I needed in my life at the time. Adventures bleed into each other throughout the series, and it builds up like a drop of ink in a clear cup of water. It starts out small, and grows until it reaches the epic end. It is so stinkin' cool, that there really isn't anything out there that can duplicate seeing it for the first time. Finishing it feels like beating your favorite story driven game, or finishing thatone awesome book and not really knowing what you want to do next. It just lingers for a long, long time.
Samurai Champloo is one of the greats that you can introduce to people that are new into anime and get them hooked. The art and style isn't too outdated looking since it was put on the air in 2005. I watched this on Adult Swim in the dubbed form, and again two more times in its entirety in the Subbed form. This hits me right in my teenage years, and has aged well into my 30's.
This is a must watch for anyone.
