Review of Mob Psycho 100 II
After watching the first season, I was eager to see whether or not the second season would live up to it, and let me tell you, I was completely blown away by how much better the second season was compared to the first. Season 1 was already something I enjoyed immensely; it had amazing animation, awesome fight scenes, hilarious characters, and a great soundtrack, but this season raised it to an entirely different level. Like, I honestly think this show is better than One Punch Man. The animation is just as fluid and beautiful as the previous season, and makes for some amazing psychic fight scenes. The story also progresses, and it's even more engaging as well. Now that we're past the Scars, we finally get to see Mob and company take on the upper echelon of the organization, and man, these guys make the Scars look like fodder in comparison. It's an absolute thrill to watch the fight scenes. There's also a brilliant and emotional episode where Mob has to confront a rogue ghost who was once a powerful psychic just like him, and honestly might be the best episode in the entire season because it's so well done.
The characters are also extremely well done. Mob's relationship with his brother is always interesting to watch, Reigen is just as hilarious in the first season if not more. Dimple and Teruki continue to be some of the best side characters I've ever seen in an anime, and many of the villains are far more complex and intimidating to watch.
I enjoyed the hell out of this anime, and we really need more shows like this. An anime that does many things right, and gives the viewers amazing action with interesting characters and a heartfelt message. Easily one of the best animes of 2019, and I recommend this wholeheartedly. 9.5/10
