Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero

I picked this show up wondering why people liked it so much, my initial thoughts were, "oh look, another isekai, I bet this is going to be like any other dumb power fantasy in this genre.". to be fair, it is a power fantasy, but this anime is no where near like any other anime in its genre. believe it or not the MC actually starts off with the hero class no one ever wants to use, the defense class.so things aren't looking so good for him already, but then, without trying to spoil anything, he gets betrayed and loses everything. so throughout theanime we see all the work MC actually puts in to get to how strong he ends up becoming. that's what I like about this anime, he doesn't just drop into the world with immense power and everyone at his feet, its the exact opposite. everyone hates him and he is the weakest class there is. but with all the hard work you see the MC put in, you see him become even more powerful then what people thought he could become. this anime is great and if you haven't tried watching it yet, give it a shot, you'll love it, trust me.
