Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero

I like the plot a lot, probably because it follows the hero's journey philosophy very well and uses evil ideas in wonderful ways. I see why the characters are created the way they are to move the plot. Some characters are more annoying than others, but I pushed through because of the plot and universe building. I don't like harem tropes, so a lot of 15 sec skipping through those scenes. I was uncomfortable with the romantic concept behind Raphtalia and Naofumi. I mean, he raised her for crying out loud! Same with Filo! I understand that the universe of the story allows it becauseshe becomes an adult, but I'm not with it. [Yes, I heard about the web novel and discovered how 'out of the box' the relationships get. I walk away from that with yet another reminder that humans are complex beings, and that I hope the other media adaptations don't follow the web novel too closely.]

Overall, a good watch with many ideas to discuss!
