Review of ReLIFE

Had a good time watching this, was engaging, cute and fairly well-made. That being said, most of it is not particularly groundbreaking by any means. The school and characters are very likeable and fun to watch, but, again, don't seem very different from many other feel-good highschool anime of this type. Very good plot hook. It was a bit simplistic in a sense; very lighthearted, but everything got solved a little too conveniently for my liking. The interpersonal relationship problems are all solved directly by our MC, and everything just kind of works out in the end - which is fine, but doesn't help itstand out very much. The art is pretty generic too, despite some at-times nice character animations.

In a weird way, the plot reminds me of the manga "I Sold My Life for Ten Thousand Yen Per Year" (poignant, bittersweet story about a part-timer/NEET who gets entangled in a weird company offering some supernatural shit which then teaches them about life), but their approaches are drastically different (that manga is very seinen, and this.. isn't). I know which one I prefer. That being said, nice show, had fun watching it, felt good and fuzzy inside and what more could ya want.
