Elden Ring: Distant Tales Between · review
Probably the best slice of life manga ive ever read, not including romance manga. important note, playing Elden ring IS a requirement to enjoy this manga... probably playing it multiple times, it is a DENSE game and you likelywont expirience everything this manga covers on your first playthrough. For those who have played it, it is an absolute joy to see familier characters from the game interact with eachother in a much more lighthearted tone, the setting is the same as the game, same world, same time period, same people, same monsters. But a change in tone will change your attitude towards this world, there isnot tension or worries anymore, just seeing these characters living their lives.
There are few relationships between NPCs in the game, and no relationships we get a good look at... This manga fixes that , letting us see how not only characters who havenever spoken may interact, but also giving us a better look at the few relationships already there.
Some chapters are about a character looking for a change of pace, some chapters are about seeing parts of a characters journey you were too busy commiting Regicide to be there for, some chapters are a straight flashback, and NON OF IT interupts the cannon! every thing that happens in this manga may have happend in the actual game world.
Also the art style is really fucking cute :)
