One Piece Novel: Ace's Story · review
Ace’s Story makes Ace’s character and arc in One Piece more whole. It offers lots of untold background and detailed life as a pirate. The first couple of chapters are very descriptive and you can feel the dry heat from the pages. This manner of writing is consistently found throughout the two volumes and makes the read a lot more engaging. An issue I have with these two books are the rehashing of One Piece knowledge we already know. It discusses things we already know well, and does so often. While I don’t mind being reminded of something, the extent of which this author takes itis a bit much.
Besides that, the new stories are compelling enough to override that issue a healthy amount. It’s a sweet tale, and a definite must-read for any Ace fan. Good stuff. 7/10
