Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple is a purely mystery-themed anime made by OLM Studios in 2005. It is an anime adaptation of some of the Agatha Christie books and short stories, making it a treat for mystery lovers and folks who enjoyed the Agatha Christie novels. The anime retains the personalities of the core detectives, with Poirot being very methodical and dramatic and Marple being very laid-back, gentle, and extremely sharp on the cases she gets introduced to. The anime also has added characters in the form of Maybelle, who is the niece of Marple and Poirot's assistant, and her pet duck, Oliver. Thenew additions are a welcome sight, as Maybelle serves as a link between Poirot and Marple and is able to highlight both characters' mystery-solving approaches and personalities to their best. One drawback that can be noted is that we don't get a backstory of a few side characters, such as Mr. Hastings and Miss Lemon, on how they joined Poirot.

The art style for a 2005 anime is visually appealing and is not off-putting at all, and OLM Studios has done a good job at maintaining the appearance of Poirot and Marple as per the original source material. Although this series doesn't have an English-dubbed version, the Japanese voice actors have also done a lovely job in their line deliveries and have made each character sound perfectly as per their character. The sounds, opening and ending songs are also a welcome addition to the series

Finally addressing the elephant in the room, the mysteries themselves. All the cases vary, with some being episodic and some other cases stretching out to as long as four episodes. All the cases and their details are faithfully recreated as per the books, which makes this series a very enjoyable experience as we journey through the "who did it" and the "how done it" aspect.

To conclude, Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple is a very engaging mystery anime and a good tribute to the corresponding novels, making it a very enjoyable experience for all.
