You won’t believe what I’m about to say, but this is the best “banished from the party” fantasy I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I’ve reached episode 5, and honestly, it’s the best episode so far. What really struck me is how good the animation quality is — way too good for what you’d expect from a typical fantasy slop. What stood out most to me, though, were the character confrontations. In episode 5, we see a powerful exchange between Alec and the prince. The prince, having lived his whole life as a noble believing he was destined for greatness or something like that, feels deeplybetrayed by his father, His Majesty. In that moment, his thoughts are incredibly conflicted — especially in this episode, where he finally vents and faces Alec directly. It shows that he has room to grow and, more importantly, that he’s capable of putting his pride aside and acknowledging the emotions of others — even the hatred between him and Alec.

I really appreciated this episode for that exact build-up. It’s not the most elegantly written review, but I genuinely recommend this anime to everyone — it’s honestly pretty damn good.
