Vanilla Chocolate Cigarette · review
It's a much better slice of life story than it is a BL. As a slice of life, it's delectable. The beat by beat of the story is nuanced and relaxed. The writing is good (love that part where we get to see the in-universe fiction). The characters are grounded and their interactions are full of depth. The unusual art works really good with the narrative as well. As a BL, it's decent but could be more. While the relationship between the couples are nuanced and layered, the chemistry are strong, and I really enjoy the first couple in all of their peculiar dynamics, the second couplefeels a bit too slow burn for the end result. The second couple feels more based on loneliness than love.
But that's a minor complaint, I feel. I still enjoy this a lot.
