Kidou Senshi Gundam: U.C. Hard Graph - Tetsu no Kanba · review
There is a particular sweet spot that UC0079 manga hit for the Gundam fan. It's a niche feeling, but for those who love the Universal Century timeline and the lore that comes with it, Hard Graph Iron Mustang is a nice complement to the world. While there are references to the main Mobile Suit Gundam series, this manga stands on it's on, introducing characters that fit the length of this two volume series. Since entire manga takes place in the early stages of the war, the characters do not have any serious arc or development. There are no grand stories, or narratives to wrap up,or conclude. While this is ideal for a manga of this length it is also it's largest weakness since none of the characters really stick with you in a significant way. Regardless, I would still recommend reading.
While there is never a lack of obscure manga in the UC, it is rare that they are always translated, with a high quality translation. Since this manga is easy to access, and only two volumes long, I think it's a solid read for anyone interested to see, yet again, another side of the one year war.
