When you read RuriDragon, the first thing you'll probably notice is all its great art, its expressive, well-drawn characters. Oh, and Ruri's dragon horns she just happened to wake up with one morning before school. She reacts as you'd expect an average schoolgirl to, and that's where the story gets its charm and humor--relatable and lifelike characters. Ruri, her mother, her friends, and everyone else aren't simply exaggerated, dimwitted characters another shounen mangaka might have used for cheap laughs and lazy storytelling. 30 chapters in, I'm left curious to see how Ruri grows and changes as a character and what other charming characters she'll meet along the way.
