Review of Redo of Healer
I had no knowledge about the manga or any of the controversy surrounding it. What convinced me to watch this was the sypnosis: the idea that a healer can become the most OP class in an RPG-type world. As a gamer myself, I loved this idea for a story. Having said that, if the sypnosis had actually described with this anime is about, I would have NEVER watched it and the only reason I pushed through is because I have a "no dropping rule". Art: 1) As an anime that features plenty of nude and semi-nude scenes, I like the attention to detail of malenipples
2) I'm not a fan of the general art style but it always looked polished to me so that's good
Sound:
Soundtrack, voice acting and sound effects are all ok
Story and characters:
1) I would really like to see another take on this type of story, which means: less sexual and more action/strategy/emotional oriented
2) Be prepared to either feel horny and fap to this if all you care about in anime is fanservice and hentai OR to feel absolutely disgusted and on the verge of puking constantly (which is how I felt if you're wondering);
3) The 2nd episode was the absolute worst thing I've ever watched. I was on the verge of puking throughout pretty much the entire time. It would've been fine with me if the main character just went berserk and murdered everyone and moved on but everything about this show is utterly disgusting. I understand it's meant to be entertainment but then again, I'm a huge Berserk fan and although there's plenty of disturbing scenes in this manga/anime series, it's still a great story with great characters and it feels that there is an actual point to the violence, gore and sexual scenes.
4) Another issue I have is that the show never, ever improves. Everything is disgusting, disturbing and sickening from the past to the present, just with the same characters in different roles (victims and antagonists). So once again it feels that there's no point whatsoever in having so much violence in terms of story telling or world building.
5) In terms of pacing, I was comfortable with until the 2nd to last enemy got her demise because everything from that point onwards felt incredibly rushed.
6) The ending begs for a sequel but I honestly felt glad that it hasn't been announced and I hope it never gets made because this was very tough to stomach through and I don't enjoyment out of something that the only reaction it gets from me is the feeling of wanting to vomit.
All things considered, it's a 4/10.
