Review of Vinland Saga Season 2
It bothers some philosophies and the scene of the hundred punches, which is better in the anime, since the dialogue that follows it is better in the manga. However, apart from that, it is an absurdly exquisite work in all aspects that can be evaluated. This season is better than the first, since, unlike the previous one, it remains at a very high level throughout, in all episodes and without having to resort to action. It is also almost always better than the manga, thanks to the director who expands the work. We have to clap our hands not only for the direction, but for thestudio, for the whole team, for the producers, for everyone who believed and made it possible for this project to be carried out with great affection.
I don't agree with some anime philosophies, as I find them unrealistic from a logical point of view and in light of the story. However, I greatly respect a work that has some content and sets out to make people think. Another point, I admire that they try to pass on a positive message of repentance, change, rebuilding, freedom and peace. Besides, they are thoughts that are very coherent with the type of character broken and contextualized to the environment that fit. Content and complexity is what I expect from a good work aimed at an adult audience.
The work has a great script and a spectacular work of characters, it is so great what they do in this sense that I find it difficult to express this magnitude. Characters have complete arcs, complex, surprising, overcoming, thought-provoking. The fact is that this results in beautiful, reflective and impressive dramatic scenes. Accompanied by a visual spectacle with a no less spectacular soundtrack. As if that weren't enough, there's a direction that knows how to offer the right frames, with the right color tones and with the right rhythm, so there's no way not to get emotional.
