Review of Redo of Healer

I waited 3 years to watch this anime. You see, I really consider myself a fan of this anime—well, more accurately, a fan of the novel. I found this novel about 4 years before the anime started airing. I remember how I got the stories and started reading them. Although I must admit that at first, it was very shocking and particularly unpleasant, I eventually came to appreciate how it expressed the evil of a character from a relatively fair perspective—or rather, fair from a twisted mind that has completely lost all human and common sense. When this anime came out, I was very happy because Icould finally see one of the novels I liked the most in anime form. My main conflict was that I started reading the comments and reviews from many people at the time, and I realized they were labeling it simply as hentai and a power fantasy. And yes, it is, but it's not just that. I believe that what I liked most about the novel wasn't the hentai aspect or the power fantasy, but the exploration of that twisted mind that didn't hold back in seeking justice in the cruelest way possible. In fact, I fondly remember eagerly waiting to see what kind of destructive and horrible thing he would do to each of the heroes. Whether or not he did +18 things to them wasn't really important to me; I enjoyed reading how he took juicy revenge for all they had done to him. It was almost poetic.

But I didn't want to act like any silly fan who would say, "you just didn't understand the anime," so I quickly started researching, trying to be as objective as possible. I was greatly disappointed to realize that this anime was more hentai than the psychological anime I thought it could be. That disappointed me, and that's why I waited 3 years to finally watch this anime. And I know my three-years-ago self was not wrong.

The Kaifuku novel narrates, step by step, the juicy and slow revenge of a man whose life was completely ruined and who was tortured mercilessly for a long time. The novel specializes and takes a lot of time to detail the immense hatred and suffering the main character acquired over all those years. It takes its time to make the reader feel an enormous desire for evil justice so that when the right moment of revenge comes, it simply feels sweet. It builds step by step to make you feel how the main character gradually advances to achieve everything he wants, justifying each step and showing that he will use all available resources to go as far as he can. That's the story I fell in love with years ago.

On the other hand, this anime is just a summarized compilation of the things the character did, plus many hentai scenes. I don't want to give the novel a 10, but I do consider it could easily be an 8. However, this anime barely reaches a 6. I knew it would be disappointing, which is why it took me so long to watch it.

I recommend this anime if:
- You have seen "Bible Black" or something similar and want to see something in that vein.
- You have read the novel, liked it, but have low expectations.
- You enjoy hentai content.
- You want a very light taste of what a real villain is like.

I do not recommend this anime if:
- You are pure of heart.
- You loved the novel and have high expectations.
- It's September.

Esperé 3 años para ver este anime.
Verán, realmente me considero un fanático de este anime, aunque, mejor dicho, soy un fanático de la novela. Encontré esta novela aproximadamente 4 años antes de que comenzara a emitirse este anime. Recuerdo cómo conseguía las historias y comenzaba a leerlas. Aunque debo admitir que, al principio, fue muy chocante y particularmente desagradable, terminé por agarrarle el gusto por la forma en que expresaba la maldad de un personaje desde una perspectiva relativamente justa, o mejor dicho, justa desde una mente retorcida que ha perdido por completo todo sentido humano y común.

Cuando salió este anime, me sentí muy alegre porque por fin podría ver una de las novelas que más me había gustado, ahora en formato anime. Mi gran conflicto fue que comencé a ver los comentarios y reseñas de muchas personas en su momento, y me di cuenta de que lo tachaban únicamente como un simple hentai y una fantasía de poder. Y sí, lo es, pero no solo es eso. Yo considero que la parte que más me gustó de la novela no fue tanto el tema hentai o la fantasía de poder, sino la exploración de aquella mente tan retorcida que no tenía pelos en la lengua para intentar hacer justicia de la manera más cruel posible. De hecho, recuerdo con mucho anhelo esperar a ver qué clase de cosa destructiva y horrible le haría a cada uno de los héroes. Que les hiciera cosas +18 o no realmente no me importaba; disfrutaba de leer cómo se vengaba de forma tan jugosa por todo lo que le habían hecho. Era casi poético.

Pero no quería caer en el error de actuar como cualquier fan tonto que diría "es que no entendiste el anime", así que rápidamente me puse a investigar intentando ser lo más objetivo posible. Me llevé la gran decepción de darme cuenta de que este anime era más un hentai que realmente un anime psicológico como yo pensaba que podría ser. Eso me decepcionó, y por esa razón es que esperé 3 años para finalmente verlo. Y sé que mi yo de hace 3 años no se equivocaba.

La novela de Kaifuku narra, paso a paso, la jugosa y lenta venganza de un hombre al cual le arruinaron por completo la vida y lo torturaron sin piedad durante mucho tiempo. La novela se especializa y toma muchísimo tiempo para detallar el gran odio y sufrimiento que el personaje principal adquirió durante todos estos años. Se toma bastante tiempo en hacer sentir al lector un enorme deseo de justicia malvada, para que, cuando llegue el momento justo de aplicar la venganza, simplemente se sienta dulce. Coloca un escalón tras otro para hacerte sentir cómo poco a poco el personaje principal avanza para obtener todo lo que desea, justificando cada paso y demostrando que el protagonista va a utilizar todos sus recursos disponibles para llegar tan lejos como pueda. Esa es la historia de la cual me enamoré hace varios años.

Por otro lado, este anime es solo una recopilación en modo resumen de las cosas que el personaje hizo, más muchas escenas hentai. Tampoco quiero darle un 10 a la novela, pero considero que fácilmente puede ser un 8. Sin embargo, este anime a duras penas llega a un 6. Sabía que sería decepcionante, y por eso me demoré tanto en verlo.

Te recomiendo este anime si:
- Has visto "Bible Black" o algo similar y quieres ver algo en esa línea.
- Has leído la novela, te gustó, pero no tienes expectativas altas.
- Te gusta el contenido hentai.
- Quieres tener una probada muy ligera de lo que realmente es un villano.

No te recomiendo este anime si:
- Eres puro de corazón.
- Te encantó la novela y tienes expectativas altas.
- Es septiembre.
