Review of Horimiya
Just like I said that Sono Bisque is the best romance anime of 2022, I think Horimiya is the best anime of 2021. And even if it's the best romance I don't really think that is a romance anime all the time. The anime gives a lot of importance to the friends that Izumi makes. And I quite liked that. I don't see that this is given so much importance in most romance anime, even if the protagonist is a quiet antisocial guy. Talking about the protagonist, I like Izumi Miyamura a lot. Even if he's handsome like most of the mc of romance animes,he's shy and doesn't have any friends. On the other hand, I think Hori has some toxic behaviours that have been somewhat uncomfortable for me. We all have toxic behaviours with our partners (especially shortly after starting dating) but she is so open with those behaviours that it's a bit awkward. I also noticed that the anime repeats the same patterns in the episodes. What I mean is that Hori is asked to go out (from someone that is not Izumi) and one or two episodes later the same thing happens to Izumi. I guess they were trying to show each other's position on their partner being with someone else but less time could have been wasted with that. But changing the subject, I enjoyed how every secondary character has his own colour so they are easy to remember. There are a lot of animes that make all the characters but the protagonists the same so all of them are really forgettable. Lastly, as I said with Komi-san, I like when a comedy anime changes the animation of his characters to make them look a bit cuter.
In conclusion, a really good romance anime without all those Japanese things that these animes usually have, making a good choice for someone who doesn't watch anime so often. Watch it if u like romance I guess.
