Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Frieren is the anime adaptation that has done everything right. You have a detailly created world and a non-generic storyline. Each episodes are rich with good pacing. You won't feel it is rushing or time wasting. The characters are all likable. Even for those characters that appear only in one episode along the journey still leaves a strong and deep impression with their own side story. Flashbacks are made with perfection. Not too long or too short but just right and always put a smile on your face or thought provoking. Animation needs not to be top-notch all the way from start to finish. Butwhen it is needed, like those important fight scene, it provides. The soundtrack is amazing and immersive. You also got Yoasobi and Yorushika for the two OP and Milet for the EDs that are so fitting to the story. You cannot ask for more with that.
Most importantly, I think the theme of Frieren is able to resonate with most of the viewer out there, especially for older generation like me who has gone through a lot in their life. The journey of Frieren gave me a feeling and and experience that none of the other anime did. And it has taught me a lot and changed my life for the better.
Frieren needs not to be my favorite anime of all time or yours. But I really cannot give Frieren anything except a perfect 10. By the time I wrote this review, Frieren scored a 9.38 and I am very happy that many of the viewers share the same opinion with me.
