It is actually insane to me how much better the manga is when you compare it with the anime, like holy guacamole. Kagome, who I've heavily disliked for years due to seeming like a bipolar bitch who gets angry at everything and often times for no good reason, was actually not such a character at all. In the manga she's instead just a normal teenage girl who gets jealous because her hubby can't get over his ex for a long span of time despite everything they've gone through. When she gets upset it's actually really understandable and it would usually follow moments where the main couplewould reconcile by actually communicating their feelings.
Yeah, I'm serious, the two actually communicate in the manga. Something that rarely if ever happens in the anime adaptation. Romantic development in the manga, that also double as overall character development, would be cut out and in turn make characters feel like flat assholes.
The big 500+ chapters mark may seem daunting but I'm telling you, it is genuinely a better way to experience this story. (blindly)
