Man, if only they allowed the author more time. A sentiment that always comes with axed mangas, the build up to the greats in world building was so good but the fact that they’re jumped too in the concluding chapters is a bummer. Little Girl x Scoop x Evil Eye, truly a light novel name among light novel mangas has finally gotten an update (and now conclusion) after so long. It’s bittersweet as when this series was first coming out in 2020 it was a personal favorite. The concept of the evil eye is one of those edgy tropes that hikkomoris love and honestly it’sdone fantastically in this manga. From the aura farming art to the actual power, I really enjoyed how it was implemented. Plus the story has a lot of heart, surprisingly giving a lot of depth to all the side characters and I like that the only reason the MC doesn’t become a typical edgy evil eye character is because a pure hearted sheep girl who btw gets some of the funniest powers and character. Honestly the series has a lot of heart, and I throughly enjoyed it, it’s just a shame that the source material ran dry and thus made the conclusion come a bit too hastily as I find it’s early chapter pacing honestly perfect. Overall give it a read if you enjoy the art from the first 3 chapters, the characters are interestingly written, I like all the motives and emotions portrayed, and truly this is a manga that does service to the concept of the ‘evil eye’ power. Though axed in its prime it’s honestly not a horrible conclusion and I’m happy to at least see it get an ending, specially as satisfying as it is.
