Matcha Made in Heaven · review
There is plenty to like about this lovely adult romance with a cute tea theme! It starts with a bit of a contract relationship trope, as the two main characters each find a benefit in sticking together. However, the difference in their attitudes often puts them at odds with one other! Readers who enjoy slow burn romances and mangas that explore other subtopics (in this case, tea) may really enjoy Matcha Made in Heaven. I think that the one thing I really enjoyed about this series is the maturity level, as the characters are often seen being more honest about things they thought previously differently about. There is a lot of character growth and development because of this, but be sure to keep this in mind while reading. I have a feeling some readers will be turned off by some of the ML's earlier personality traits—don't let it stop you, keep reading! Otherwise, you'll miss out on some important developments that help shape the story and romance.
The romance slowly becomes incredibly cute and sweet, and showcases some unexpected sides to the characters that are just so exciting! I also must mention that readers who enjoy mangas with scruffier male leads may rejoice when reading this series. Rather than the oh-so-common baby-faced male lead, this series features a love interest who is a bit burlier.
