Each volume is equivalent to an entire season of the anime, and honestly, I think the series peaked at Volume 2. After Volume 2, the author just starts adding character after character with no good reason or plot relevance in some cases. They basically exist just to lick the MC’s boots, but they’re not even part of his harem — they’re just annoying for the sake of being annoying, instead of being the typical "peanut gallery" type. Starting from the end of Volume 2, Volumes 3 and 4 kind of just repeat the same formula, but worse. Volume 2 had the MC go into a school wherehe was treated like trash and had to pretend to be a normal student, which opened up a lot of cool world-building opportunities.
But then Volumes 3 and 4 also have the MC enter other places of learning, and it’s just time skip after time skip, with the MC humiliating random nobodies in between. It ends up feeling like one of those low-effort cultivation novels.
I don't see this series really going anywhere beyond stagnation, but users of this site like that type of thing.
