*How to Survive in a Horror Game* presents an intriguing premise, underpinned by mystery, survival elements, and a psychological atmosphere that captures the reader's attention from the beginning. However, as the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that the manhwa adaptation fails to convey the full depth likely present in the original novel. It lacks the emotional density, the characters' inner thoughts, and the gradual development of bonds between them—aspects that would have given the story another dimension but were ultimately lost in this version. The biggest problem lies in the character development, and especially in the romantic aspect. The male protagonist falls in love with thegirl, but this shift lacks narrative weight and is not accompanied by moments that awaken a sense of passion or intensity in the reader. The way these feelings emerge seems too sudden and unfounded, as if the plot skipped essential steps to convince us of the authenticity of the relationship. For the protagonist, the situation is similar: her affection blossoms almost overnight, without us having access to reflections, experiences, or clues to legitimize this development. The result is a romance that lacks emotion, fails to convince, and feels more like a narrative requirement than a natural, organic connection between two characters.

Thus, although the mystery works at times and manages to maintain some interest, the lack of a consistent emotional buildup causes the work to lose its impact. It's not a terrible manhwa, because the premise remains intriguing and there's potential in the story's foundations, but it's also far from memorable. In the end, it leaves the feeling that it could have been much more, especially if the adaptation had given due attention to the characters' development and the way the romance is portrayed.
