A long time ago, in a far, far away galaxy, there lived someone who didn't need to puke when reading this. I will keep it short, 'cause I didn't manage to read more than a few chapters before just giving up. "I Adopted the Male Lead from the Shelter" is basically about a young villainess who is supposed to die by the hand of the male love interest's dad. This male love interest is a white leopard (who can transform into a human form), imprisoned below the estate of the villainess's dad. The protagonist remembers reading this story in her last life and wants to change it,so she starts to treat the white leopard better.
Maybe it's because I found a really bad version of the book, maybe there is a better site with a better version somewhere out there in the depths of the internet, but after checking on several sites I am pretty sure that this one is just bad. Its structure and pacing are hella weird, seemingly skipping panels or days from time to time. The relationship between the humans and the animal-humans, especially the protagonist and the white leopard, is weird as well. I do not have a better description than just calling it weird, 'cause this whole book just felt weird. I got a bad feeling when reading this. For example, there is a scene where the protagonist gets whipped by mistake, followed by a few lame excuses. The art style is strange, you need to get used to it, and the translation I found was also just bad.
All in all, there is nothing that is good about this book. It has a bad translation, the pacing feels off, it seems like panels are missing, and the story and characters are hella strange. If there had been at least something to hook you, I might have been able to ignore all these faults, as they are not unique to this book, but as there is just nothing that feels right or good, I can't do anything but complain.
