Review of Recovery of an MMO Junkie
What a wonderful series! Being a comedy, of course, there are a lot of great laughs to be had. And, yet, unlike a lot of anime comedies I've seen, the characters feel like they could be almost 100% real. Moriko is endearing right off the bat, and remains so through all 10 episodes. I haven't watched the OVA, yet (project at work tonight ;-) ), but I'm sure that remains true. (Okay, yes. I'm a grown man who still tends to develop a bit of a crush on anime characters. Sue me. :-D ) As someone who, much like Moriko, almost feels more at home in an MMOthan in the real world, I think the creator is definitely someone who "gets" online gamers.
In short, if you're an online gamer, like to laugh, and are a hopeless romantic, this is the show for you.
