In this continuation that is actually a prequel, Killer Seven eases up on the comedy to deliver more serious storyline. This actually works well, as the "comedy" is quite weak in the main series while the action scenes are nice to watch. This way Cike Wu Liuqi Fanwai gets rids of it weakness while expands upon its strength. Even with a background of originating from a comedy series, this prequel is surprisingly serious and dramatical, featuring the backstories of Thirteen and Dai Bo (the blue chicken with sunglasses, for those who have troubles remembering the characters name). The story flows nicely with a good pacing andthe episodes are entertaining the whole time.

I have previously complained about the lack of characterization in the first Killer Seven series, so it's nice to see that those extra episodes provide exactly that. If you like the main series, you should definitely watch this. If you didn't enjoy the main series as much, this might be a quick fix for that.
