I would like to start off by saying that, this show is your typical average shounen anime. What might be the difference you ask? Well, everything really. Every shounen is different in their own way. You have One Piece, with amazing world building. Naruto, with it's life lessons. Bleach with it's amazing antagonists. And then you have Black clover, with a little bit of all. *contains spoilers* To start off, I'll talk about what everyone looks forward to when an anime comes out. ANIMATION: Animation is not a problem in this show. Animation is above average but it's pretty typical. Some people might argue that animationfor this show is mediocre, but to be honest, It's pretty damn good. Examples of this are The fights like Asta Vs Dante, Asta and black bulls vs Zagred, Asta and Yami vs Licht, and even the royal knights exam fights. I honestly cannot remember a time where this show has disappointed me animation wise. Now a lot of people like to bash on the fight between Asta and Ladros, when in reality, it really wasn't all that bad. In my opinion, the art style during that fight depicted the speed they were traveling mid- air when fighting. And if you still were yet to be satisfied with this fight, the scene where the queen of witches awakens Asta's true power (not specifying for spoiler reasons) should make up for it in my opinion. But overall, I can honestly not complain animation wise. If anything, the animation impresses me.

Now, Let's move on to story telling.

STORY TELLING: If you complain about this story, I honestly don't know what to tell you. After all the Major plot twists this story provides, backstories, character development, ETC, there is nothing to complain about. Honestly, I would even go as far as saying that It's above Naruto, when it comes to story for me at least. Overall though, to not spoil anything, all I will say is this story is spectacular.

SOUNDTRACK: Once again, nothing to complain about. Personally, I have no issues with the soundtracks besides that some of them are a bit basic. Once again black clover averages 140,000$ budget per episode animation which might've cut the ost budget but over all, the show has Really solid osts and really catchy ones too.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Character development is once again pretty impressive. The fact that Asta was able to train his way to being 3rd rank magic knight level with no mana or magic is impressive. But Asta deserves way more credit, and I think that he should be held to Yuno's rank for he is much stronger than Yuno post time skip. At the bare minimum I believe he should be a much higher magic knight level but once again this is just an opinion. A problem i will say that I do have with this side of the anime is that as Youtuber Moist critical also stated, It has an issue like Demon slayer, where every single character has their own individual personality and will remain like that for the rest of the show. It gets really tiring at some points. Like I get tired of Gauche talking about Marie, I get tired of grey being embarrassed 24/7, I get tired of charmy not doing anything but eating constantly, I get tired of Luck always wanting to fight, I get tired of Gordon not speaking up until the elf arc, ETC. But Despite this, you also have to take the squad captains into perspective. Character development wise they don't have much, because they are literally captains. What more do they want. They cannot achieve a higher rank besides wizard king which Julius currently holds, but they can achieve new spells. Good examples of this would be Yami's dimension slash, Fuegoleon's salamander etc. But I really really like the captains currently. However I wish i got to see more of Fuegoleon's rather than him being asleep for half the show which was kind of bs, because all he did was loose an arm. Regardless I still remain satisfied with all of the captains and it's very fun to watch them. Also Jack never changes. Another one example of a character having the same personality for the entire show. He never gains any new abilities or anything. I'm honestly even surprised he became a squad captain at all but whatever. Would've been cool if he was given a new ability or something. Also, this series loves to put magna down for whatever reason. They never let him go on any important missions, because he doesn't have enough mana, isn't strong enough, or he will say that he will train to get stronger, then proceed to absolutely make no change. Overall though, I would say the character development is good, but the most characters are mediocre.

ENJOYMENT: To be honest, never once has this show bored me. I will admit that it is slow the first couple of episodes with the whole diamond kingdom dungeon arc, but as soon as you get to Marie's village arc and underwater arc it's all uphill from there. Other than that I don't really have much to say other than the fact that I enjoyed this show very much. A good example of slow at the start but good after a couple of episodes is Steins; Gate, After episode 12 it's all uphill from there.

OVERALL: This anime deserves to be rated at least 8.40 out of 10 stars imo. Very enjoyable, no shit animation, no bullshit abilities, good and understandable power system, alright character development ETC. If you're into a funny, epic, amazing show then go for it. Black clover is for all people tbh.
