Review of Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld Part 2

What started as a great season to a very popular and controversial anime series started getting messier and messier with each subsequent episode of this cour. Don't know why the hell the production team decided to make such a mess of their cash cow. Had they increased the budget for longer series, this wouldn't be the mess. No matter how much they invested in this series, the profit was sure due to immense popularity of the franchise. The art and animation was great (well pleasing to eyes). Like other studios, A1 too opted to focus on beautification rather than detailing on most part. The sound effectswere just great and the theme songs were good (I personally loved the ones from previous cour).

The only thing that made this series messy was the direction (probably due to budget issues). The things I liked about the series were action sequence and a feeling of continuity between the events. But this cour made the mess of both of them. They jumped from one major event to another major event with little to no continuity leaving tons of unanswered questions due to limited time, even the fight sequences were cut short quite a lot (apart from a very few special ones).

If someone thinks that I am a SAO hater, then have a look at my MAL profile. I have consistently rated the every season so far very high since I felt that they deserve those.(Infact, I am still clashing between the rating of 7 or 8 due to personal bias). SAO has been one of my favourite animes of all times. Infact for this cour, I rewatched whole series since I had a gut feeling that I will be requiring all the characters of past seasons for this one (don't know why) and I was right.
