I was aware what i was getting myself in ever since before the last season ended, but GOD DAMN were my expectations subverted in the worst way possible. Somehow it devolved even more story-wise . What do i mean by that you ask ? It threw away any sort of world building it established , MC was supposed to have some limitations on his summoning ability as it was shown, but later on that just doesn't exist . He can summon from a hundred and stuff to thousands at this point, without his mana depleting at all. Not to mention outside of the main character almost everyother hunter either has some basic abilities that aren't even worth mentioning or no abilities at all, even the S class ones. And just like their abilities most characters don't get any sort of agency, any sort of development and everything in-between. This is honestly the first anime that made me feel animosity to this level .

Oh my god, his mother is back from that sleep, such an emotional moment... i don't care. Oh my,some cannon fodder got wiped out... i don't care. OH no, that blonde hunter chick is dying.... I DO NOT CARE ONE BIT . At this point they are not even one-dimensional they are even less then that . And this sort of bogus writing will never get me invested no matter how flashy the action gets . And it gets flashy, pointlessly so, because MC is unkillable undefeatable and already the strongest thing in the world,so where is the plot gonna go ? On a trip around the world so every character and the story itself alltogheter can glaze this boring MC that is as people say today... aura farming (i hate using these terms but that's how basic this show has become). Even the fights have become far less intresting since they've lost all that personal feeling and all.

This is also the first time i feel like the author himself doesn't understand his own MC and all.. Like they are trying to force some sympathy points on the guy like he isn't already an established sociopath..... 'But he cares about his family!!!!" Like the first season didn't establish that he despised to be that weak and his fear of death and the way people looked down upon him were the reasons why he wanted to get stronger in the first place... You can't pull that switcheroo now mate.Outside of the fake motivations connected to his family i really don't see him care at all.

And what's worse this whole issue could've been solved with better writing. Have the MC stay to that level physically and make him rely on his summons mostly. But even then, there's no character that has any weight in this story so even that fix won't be enough.
Some of the worst writing i have had the misfortune to witness with my own two eyes. I'd rather give an isekai slop the studio and the budget this show got really At least the isekai slop isn't this overrated and overhyped like this junk.

Yeah , same as before, if you can turn your brain off and just watch this guy pose for the camera while effortlesly wiping any foe with ease while every previous established limit like mana usage with his shadow army and that fatigue system got forgotten then i guess you're gonna enjoy this show,otherwise.... Just watch an isekai or something else, your intelligence will feel less insulted that way.
