Review of Tokyo Revengers

An anime where the kids look like adults and adults look like kids, you can skip a lot but still understands what's going on, but still wants to watch the series because it's good. I started watching Tokyo Revengers on a whim. Generally, I start an anime after watching it's reviews, clips, music or anything else. But this one was different. After seeing the thumbnail on the Muse Asia youtube channel, I immediately had a gut feeling that this show might be worth watching. And here I am. Enjoyed every episode of the show. I liked the time travel concept. It's a little different thanmost of the other time travel stories. Here, the protagonist Hanagaki Takemichi has a disadvantage. He can only go back to the exact day 12 years ago. It's like having a second chance, not like other time travel stories where you can continuously jump back and forth from the future to the past and vice versa.

The storyline shows you the life of different types of delinquents. Some of them succeed, some of them fail miserably, some die, and some live like rats. And among them, Hanagaki receives the power to change his future by going to the past and musters up his courage to take risks for himself and the others (especially his friends and his girlfriend, Hinata) and joins one of the notorious gang in Japan, Tokyo Manjikai.

Character development is good enough. We get a background story on almost all the main characters and they are not half bad. I am guessing the others will get their background story on season 2.

Artstyle and music was quite good. Liked the fight scenes though there were some discrepancies. But it didn't bother me to be honest.

But the first five minutes of recaps and slow pacing really got me. I could skip the maximum part of the show and I was able to understand properly what was going on. But the cliffhanger and the plot twists were so good that I binge-watched the whole show.

Well, there you go, my review on Tokyo Revengers Searson 1. Hoping for a season 2 as the story continues and we are hanging on a cliff badly :')
