Review of Overlord II
The first half of this season I found kind of boring - I wasn't a massive fan of the lizard men and their arc. It was just rather basic and I wasn't particularly enthralled by any of the characters on display. The second half looked up a bit more, and Demiurge constantly going on about elaborate plans with Ainz just kind of going along with it is one of my favourite aspects of this series - he really is just going with the flow here. If this was based on the latter half alone, it would have been more 5 stars, but alas I hadto take the first half of the season into consideration as well.
This is still the typical isekai with an overpowered protagonist who is rather basic, surrounded by attractive women. Yes, these women are more monstrous than most and they aren't necessarily the complete good guys, taking a lot of questionable actions as they set about essentially trying to conquer the world (though Ainz seems to be trying to find out if any of his fellow guild members also became trapped in the game). I am interested in continuing this and seeing where it will head, but this definitely wouldn't be on my list of favourites anytime soon.
