Review of Dororo

Dororo is overall a very good anime and could have been a master piece if the author was not running from his own decisions. The ending was a total farce. The two sides that the author had established for himself was going very well. On one side, was Hyakkimaru who didn't have his body and suffered a lot and all he was trying to do was to get his body back. On the other hand was his family specifically his father and his brother who did perform an atrocity by sacrificing hyakkimaru's body but now are in a precarious situation. They cannot allow Hyakkimaru toretrieve his body as that means Daigo domain will fall leading to many deaths.

His brother's obsession of protecting his land went away just because he didn't kill him? That doesn't make sense. Now suddenly he is not thinking about protecting the land! All for the sake of the story of hyakkimaru not becoming a demon? This is pure BS. In my opinion, author's handling of his brother was very bad. He wanted to give us an epic dual between the brothers which is why he turned against hyakkimaru. What the author could have done differently was slowly make his brother realize that his actions have been wrong and protecting the people by sacrificing someone is not only bad but unstable (this however is mentioned in the anime). Instead he chooses to just attack his brother by obtaining demon power claiming that his body isn't his? He considers his brother a demon but what does doing this make him? This corroborates my argument that he couldn't have changed just because his brother didn't slash through him when he could.

I do however, like how the whole kingdom burnt at the end. This according to me, symbolizes that the kingdom needed to pay for what they did.

Also, i didn't like how he separated Hyakkimaru and Dororo. There whole point was that dororo will always stay by Hyakkimaru's side. Don't know why they did this. It would have been cool to see them together at the end.
