Battle Through the Heavens is truly the best donghua I’ve ever seen — and I’ve seen a lot. But Battle Through the Heavens is special: a gripping and thrilling story, a protagonist who genuinely evolves and has real charisma, and top-tier visuals. The first season might be a bit less enjoyable to watch, but after that, it's masterpiece after masterpiece. I haven’t felt this kind of passion since Naruto during my childhood. Sometimes, the biggest weakness of donghua is having a coherent and understandable story (looking at you, Perfect World), but Battle Through the Heavens nails it perfectly. Donghua really is the future, and I’mso happy to have discovered this universe!
