Review of Chainsaw Man
If I had to describe the show in a few words, it would probably be..... brutal, aesthetic and fan service. To start off, the OST.... 10/10, whether it be to hype up a fight scene, make a sick introduction or make emotional moments even more... emotional I guess, the OST pulls it off perfectly. Art n stuff.... also a 10/10, the attention to detail is beyond amazing, the sky, the cities, the forests... everything has life in it, making it very very aesthetic, and on top of the art, usually an OST tops it off, so the watching experience is srslygood.
Blood and guts are like bread and butter, every fight scene features at least 5 to 10 liters of blood, whether it be open wounds, cut off limbs or some other brutal stuff, the show doesn't hold back in that aspect.
Fight scenes... are srsly good, on top of the liters of blood and guts, the angles that we get whilst the fight is happening are top notch dude, up, down, right, left.... you get the point, some modern stuff bscly.
Although... some of the fights aren't exactly satisfying, because either one of the participants dies too early, or the fight ends before a conclusion... the fights that did come to a conclusion... were pretty solid.
Now... character design, lets start with the eyes, you can kinda tell a lot by the eyes, for example, overly wide eyes, the character is insane, relaxed eyes, the character is chill, cool calm collected... they also indicate on if a character is scared, angry etc. you get the point, cool stuff.
Clothing design was pretty cool, kinda fashionable, street style, more like work street style... something along those lines, bscly, characters look cool.
But now... demon design... I wouldn't say the demons were frightening, but I guess it depends on the demon, some look cute (Pochita), some disgusting and some scary. All the demons act n stuff like humans, they aren't ooga booga brainless beasts, they can think and talk.
Character design personality wise was good, most of the characters were shown in many mental states, happy, sad, angry, near death, so it's quite difficult to not get emotionally attached to one or two characters.
In term of fan service..... it's not thaaaat over the top, but I wouldn't say it's next to none. For me personally, it's like pulling your ding dong out during family dinner, it kinda ruins the vibe.
Overall, great show, it's srsly a hell of a show to watch, the art, OST, story, everything has this familiar feel to it, like your fav meal you used to eat as a kid, bscly, it's good.
