Review of Horimiya

About the Anime,, So, Horimiya... I can't find something to write about this anime and this is basically the reason why i don't recommend you watch this anime.. yes it basically has no story whatsoever so I'm going to treat this section as the "what's bad" section,, This thing has no story like srsly no story at all I didn't think something like that is even possible.. it is not considered a slice of life anime for some reason but i'd say it is very close to those it focuses on the lives of a certain high school students group and man their lives is soshallow and empty ( according to the anime ) the entire events of this show could be a side events to a main story focus and not a stand alone story itself it kinda focuses on who has a crush on whom and who wants to go out with who and how their love life develops but without any sort of a story or a plot at all

with romance / slice of life shows you'd expect something always happening, it should really be based around a story of some sort like for example Re:life focuses on changing the behavior of the MC and rebuilding their trust and confidence in society, Ascendance of a Bookworm focuses on the small girl who wants to create her very beloved books (in her previous life) in a world that is very old
and primitive some other stuff like Bunny girl senpai or QQ they always have some stuff going on like some sort of a plot..etc

but this show has nothing going on at all it is an empty show which kinda makes it seem very uncomplete even though it is finished

What's good?

the characters are cute, their reactions are not cringe, sometimes it is funny and it is one of those shows that shows you an adult version of romance that you would enjoy to watch, similar to Bunny Girl Senpai in this manner (only the non cringe romance speech and actions) to some extent. if you don't really care about any plot at all you might enjoy these aspects with it

my Opinion,
as i said if you don't care about the plot or a story and would like to watch some high school students fool around in their love life with no events or sequential plot at all then you might enjoy the well made romance (non cringe) and the cute characters and behavior i treated it as a chill anime i completed it but i didn't have so much fun and got bored
