Review of Lazarus

I really wanted to LOVE this, everything from the premise to the names of people working on this anime was very promising like you literally have Watanabe Shinichirou the director of Cowboy Bebop working on your show so there's no way they could mess it up right? well unfortunately that was the case because they managed to create one of the most "Nothing Story" i've ever seen. After you finish watching episode 1 you would never expect the rest of the show to be very carefree with no stakes or whatsoever and that's very frustrating because unlike Cowboy Bebop Lazarus isn't an episodic story butit still treats itself like one although we have an overarching plot a world threating one too but you don't actually feel that, the characters act very normal and chill like they're so confident that everything will turn up fine at the end which make me completely lose interest in the story already. And that's why i have a very mixed feelings about this anime because it should've been a much better story with good writing. the characters even though most of them are very bland but the few of them that gets more screen time and we learn more about them are actually interesting and it shows the lost potential of this anime. the best way to describe Lazarus is It's a show of style over substance. everything looks good the animation is spectacular and the character design is cool and the chorography of the action scenes are actually insanely good but underneath all of that is a nothing story.

If you want to watch something just to turn your brain off Lazarus offers you an enjoyable experience with an incredible quality of animation to blow your mind but just don't think much of the story or raise any expectations because once you try to take it seriously you'll clearly see its obvious flaws.
