Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

A garden variety brand of JK x Office Worker sort of romance. There isn't much to comment on; the female lead is a happy go lucky, bold, preppy sort of gyaru who's sensitive and hates relying on people or putting other's out, but gets into a situation where she absolutely must ask a stranger for help. The male lead is an antisocial NEET who struggles with anxiety due to a failed relationship in the past that caused trauma and ostracized him, to the point he retreated into self-punishment and loathing and only just recently managed to crawl out of his pit of despair because ofhis newfound love for a VTuber.

A VTuber who just so happens to be the aforementioned gyaru.

Whilst the story itself is uninspiring, and quite poorly paced. The plot seemingly veers from Aoba being a pathetic hikikomori to someone with a spine, all because he feels the sudden urge to protect a high schooler. Which, again, is definitely raising some eyebrows. Whilst the age-gap between Nina and Aoba is often used as the butt of a joke or even as an insult, everyone around them seems surprisingly fine with it and has zero issue with the relationship nor with the fact that Nina, a teenage girl actively attending high school and still legally a minor, is staying and living with a complete and utter stranger who is ten years older than her.

Another gripe is the blatantly possessive and almost predatory men that get involved with Nina's storyline in particular. Her childhood best friend is clingy and spiteful that Nina doesn't love him back, and one of Aoba's coworkers straight up stalks her and shows up to where Aoba and Nina live. Both of those storylines just get... resolved? By the power of love, or something?

Not to mention how abruptly we're introduced to Aoba's ex-fiancée, get hit with a fake marriage plot, and then suddenly all's good to the point that the ex decides it'd be funny to go drop off lube and condoms because Aoba is fucking a teenager.

For all the complaints, however, the story itself is quite sweet. The couple is cute, there's sweet moments, and they seem to cherish one another despite how vapid both of their personalities are in terms of how fleshed out everything is. Not a horrible read, but a quick one if you're looking for something short with a dash of drama and clumsily resolved conflict.
