“Anything that can go wrong will go wrong” -Murphys law Firstly to get some things out of the way, the plot for this show is non-existent this isn’t a serious anime it’s an anime purely meant for enjoyment and comedy. Secondly the episodes are 5 minutes shorts collected into 23minute episodes and most of the shorts don’t have any relevance to the episode before however some shorts do which make for an enjoyable story arc. What I particularly liked about The Disastrous Life of Saiki was how it utilises Murphys Law in almost all of its shorts and then the writers use Saiki’s cunning and methodicalthinking paired up with his many supernatural powers (without letting others know about his abilities) to correct these problems or in some cases, endure the problem, this was a very original way of creating comedic effect and I applaud the writers for using this technique to make The Disastrous Life of Saiki a very original and enjoyable comedy anime. I also appreciated the side characters unique personalities and how it contrasted with Saiki’s bland and uncaring personality which I also like how Saiki’s views consistently contrasted with the side characters actions or views which made for some pretty comedic moments. Moreover I like how each short is unique in its own way and how the writers think up new gags to use in the shorts and also how each short is enjoyable and comedic.

I would recommend this anime to anyone who likes either the comedy genre or the supernatural genre because The Disastrous Life of Saiki is one of the very few anime that stand out among its genres by using different original ways to create comedy e.g Murphy law which made it a very interesting and enjoyable watch.
