Review of Devilman: Crybaby

Disclaimer I have not read the manga from 1972 so this review is anime only! Before I've watched devilman crybaby I already know about the disco scene so I was prepared for the nudity but man, I did not expect that much of nudity in the rest of the anime. Let's start with the story. Story: 8 I really liked how dark the story was. Everything just went downhill and became darker and darker. I was the entire time confused but not in a wrong way, I liked it that it gave me a lot of questions. The story is fast, simple but you have to understand it.Two of my friends didn't like Devilman crybaby at all, I think because they didn't see the whole plot of this anime. Also I didn't expect the end at all. I only think it's a little bit too fast, instead of 10 pisodes it could've been 12.

the art is not really my type. It's way to flat and has not a lot of detail.

Sound: 9

I love the intro, don't ask me why I don't know either. Overall are the soundtracks nice and they fit to all the scenes. I love the soundtrack Jugdement way to much!

Character: 7

There is not a real character development but the serie is only 10 episodes long so I did not expect it either. Overall are the charaters written fine.

Enjoyment: 8

Devilman crybaby did really some realisation for me. There are not a lot of good and dark series out there. Netflix did a real good job for making this anime. Devilman crybaby is not my favorite anime but it's definitely one of the anime I will never forget. The only thing that I think is not really necessary is all of the nudity in the whole anime but that's maybe my personal prefrence.

It's a good anime, it's not my favorite anime but you should give it a try. I think Devilman crybaby is one of the anime you would love or hate.
