Review of Recovery of an MMO Junkie

I loved this series, just finished watching the last episode today. Ever since I heard the premise I immediately knew I would enjoy this anime and to my surprise I loved it with its cutesy art and funny characters. One can not talk about this anime without mentioning the OP done by Megumi Nakajima which was just beautiful and I loved getting to the next episode to hear that OP every week; It was a great song to look forward to. As for the rest of the OST its generally great all round and helped certain scenes tones which is important as this is a comedyanime.

The characters can be summed up in two words: simple and lovable. What I like about Recovery of an MMO junkie is just its carefreeness which allows me to just sit back and enjoy it. Lily and Hayashi's interactions were engaging and enjoyable to watch as they quest through their adventures in the MMO. What I liked about the interactions between Lily and Hayashi is that it reminded me a lot of when I started to play MMO's and watching them both work together was just pleasing. However the interactions between Sakurai and Moriko are priceless and in my opinion making this series a great comedy to watch. Watching them get emotional over the littlest of things is hilarious and how they react to each other is even better.

As for the art style I would immediately give it a 10/10 no doubt about it. The art style helps maintain the theme and tone of the anime. Bright and colourful which really helps the characters shine and separate it from others of its genre. This is mostly seen with Lily to ethicise her cuteness(#LiliyBestGirl).

This animes theme shares a lot of similarities to Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omottaso if you liked that anime then you most likely will enjoy this one.

Overall I loved this anime, its simple but fun and I loved coming back every week to watch another episode. If you don't like simple animes then this might not be for you but its worth a try anyway. Give it three episodes then see what you think. Its such as shame its ended and only had 10 episodes. Lucky they seem to be releasing a Special as well.
