Review of Ya Boy Kongming!
Reviews if you don't have time. *SPOILER-FREE* Sometimes there are some shows in a season that are so good that are able to leave the incognito status it begins the season with. And “Paripi Koumei”, an adaptation done by P.A. Works studio, is one of the latest additions to that list. Animation wise, the show has a really good balance and overall colourful feel to it, which since it develops in the busy and crazy streets of Shibuya, helps a lot with the night-life atmosphere and palette. On the other end, the music production of the show is amazing, and it makes it so people can truly appreciatethe songs in the show and the whole set of instruments behind it. Unfortunately, I personally think that could have been a bigger pool of songs used and one or two more scenes of that calibre of music production, but in no way it disappoints.
However, if there was a stand out aspect of this show, is the characters and their development along the story. “Paripi Koumei” was able to present an extraordinary set of characters that not only feel very real and down-to-earth but have struggles and flaws that people can resonate with and sympathize as well. In addition, the way the main duo bounce of each other and with the supporting cast is really wholesome and fun making that much more gratifying when they overcome some difficulties and grow as people.
Overall, if you are looking for a wholesome, exciting and almost informative show about the struggles of being an upcoming music artist, with awesome character writing, music production and one of the best openings in recent times, then you’ve come to the right MAL page.
