The original Fruit Basket is a reasonably old piece of work. But this anime doesn't feel like it. That's probably partly because the work itself is a great one. And the animation is carefully crafted and the atmosphere of the work is well balanced. The characters' personalities are not too flashy, but they have their own personalities. On top of that, the storyline of their lives, their destinies, and their love lives is built up, while gradually moving forward to the final mystery. Also, this story is I'm looking forward to seeing how the story will unfold in the future.
