Berserk chapter 83 is undoubtedly a sad loss. When I read it in a scam, the lost chapter was like opening a door that Miura decided to keep locked. In it, Griffith, at rock bottom, faces the Idea of Evil, an entity that is like a dark heart beating at the center of the Berserk universe. It explains that it is crystallized human suffering, our own need to give meaning to pain. It is heavy, almost as if Miura is forcing us to look at what is most raw in us. What gets me is how this chapter, even outside the canon, seems essential. It makesGriffith's betrayal in the eclipse even more tragic, it is a guy who sees his destiny sewn together by greater forces, but still chooses to dive headfirst. the fight between what you control and what swallows you. Miura removing this chapter was a great loss, seeing how Griffith gives in to his own path and sinks into the abyss of his selfishness for the sole good of his future actions, with a simple wish for wings and the awakening of a new beginning, his fate had already been sealed, chapter 83 is not just a chapter removed by the author, it is a glimpse into the abyss that makes Berserk so unique.
