6.9/10 For what this manga is, it’s somewhat enjoyable due to all of the dirty cliches and nuances in a typical naivety story, but it gets somewhat tiring at one point due to it not taking much of an original direction. The plot is ridden with some purposefully made plot holes to create a conflict, which is somewhat annoying, but it isn’t anything major for the story’s development. As for the plot itself, it isn’t the most original, as some of the scenes felt like a complete rip-off of a pokemon battle scene. There are also your usual developments of people praising or scorning the mcfor the sake of it.

Though the plot is mediocre and still enjoyable, the world-building/backstory is no less than atrocious. There are just too many conveniences created for the plot, and the world doesn’t make much sense either: Demons are invading, but the tamers tame said demons — is there a demon king or are demons just being villains for the sake of it? In other words, not much of the world is explained, and the backstory of the mc is comprised of one-panel flashbacks and some plot inserted reputation.

The characters are relatively basic, but they do display the smallest bit of depth despite being cliche. There are some interesting aspects about the side characters and their interactions with the main cast/mc/his summons, but there’s also not much of any progression or development going on.

The story is another one of those naivety stories to “hit the spot” or “satisfy all of my desires” while being somewhat engaging and wholesome; it’s not bad per se, but it also isn’t anything new/that interesting.
