It's just as good as Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose - Catastrophe at Sixteen. It feels more like a continuation of those previous novels than anything else. In fact, it starts immediately where Catastrophe at Sixteen left off. The story is great as of the first two volumes, it adds more depth to the series and characters, especially Guren, who is once again a great protagonist in this series. Also there's more Ferid and the way he's shown is really intimidating and he steals the show whenever he's there. But seeing the world immediately after it ends is genuinely interesting and I am definitely goingto read more of it when it comes out.

Basically, if you liked the Catastrophe at Sixteen series, this is more of that, and well worth reading as a result. Just make sure you read Catastrophe at Sixteen first. I hope Vertical localizes The Story of Mikaela the Vampire as well, I'd buy it as soon as it comes out without hesitation.
