This review may discuss plot details.

This was a beautiful story in the vein of a classical Disney Princess film. This is a lovely movie to watch if you are looking for a family film that you haven't seen before. Young children would enjoy it and the plot doesn't drag so adults would appreciate it as well. With a run time of an hour the story that has a plot that develops quickly and wastes no time introducing the character of Anya. Like many characters that fit the princess archetype she is a maiden pure of heart whose purity is her key to resolving the conflicts that arise. Charactersand Character Development: 7/10 - Anya is a well rounded and compared to the rest of the cast she is a 10/10. The supporting cast come off as rather bratty or privileged. They served to highlight Anya's pure heart vs those around her. That being said, towards the end of the film their is some minor character development so I can only give the supporting cast a 5/10. This balances out to a 7/10.

Animation: 6/10 - Considering this film was made in the 1980's and I am watching it almost 45 years after its release it holds up fairly well. The animation style is the same as any Disney Princess made around and before its release. Which gives it a nostalgic vibe and adds to its family friendly atmosphere.

Musical Score: 8/10 - The musical number sung by Anya near the beginning of the film is soothing and a good introduction to her character. Every scene has a musical accompaniment in the background that either adds to the story or gets integrated into the plot. The accompanying music really carries the movie. It is soothing and never distracting.
