Review of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

I was very pleased with this movie. I was kind of expecting another "Spirits Within" (which sucked), but this actually stuck to the Final Fantasy world and feel. The story was new and creative, so as not to bore the ones who have played the game before. Even if you haven't played the game it shouldn't be too hard to understand the story. The graphics were amazing. So detailed and great quality. I can only imagine how much work it took to complete this movie. You can tell it was definitely not half-assed. That in itself makes the movie worth watching. I liked the newcharacters that were introduced. The original characters from the game, however, did not meet my expectations. The Cloud I knew from the game had a sense of humor. No chance of that in the movie with his uber emoness. Which I like uber emoness, too, but he just didn't feel like Cloud to me. Maybe in that respect it would be better for people who haven't played the game.
