Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion

Evangelion. Where to start? I can say 100% that this was the first mech anime I watched. I can also say that when I watched it the first time around in my youth, I was about as confused as watching FLCL. But damn was it cool to look at. Evangelion is a timeless classic that will forever divide people in whether it is actually great or not. People at cons and cosplay events will also take every opportunity to fly off the handle if you mention Gundam anywhere near them. It's honestly pretty funny, but anyways, back to this short simple review. If you find yourself wantinga classic, and you are old enough to understand and try to dissect the potential hidden messages riddled throughout this anime, you will enjoy yourself. All of the base tropes for the mech genre are there. The MC is such a wuss and worthless, you just want to slap the crap out of him. There are pretty young anime girls in spandex space suits that are special to the mechs. There are epic robot fights and an ending that honestly leaves something to be desired.

The good news is that you can now watch it in movie format with a new ending!
