Review of Durarara!!
Wheew, this was one heck of a roller coaster ride. I’m glad I jumped straight into watching Durarara without reading much about it. It wasn’t as confusing for me, I actually got a hang of everything with each episode. They actually do a pretty nice job in explaining the back story and all that...But patience is required for sure because you won’t be able to gather much from the very first few episodes. The anime is hilarious at times, weird at times and then suddenly serious at times. The first half of it had me laughing a lot but the second half was quite serious. I swear at timesthis anime had me thinking ‘Just what am I watching and why am I watching this’ hahaha yet I kept watching one after the another because every episode left me curious about what happens next.
Trust me, there are lots of twists and turns and things may go over your head but if you look carefully, everything’s pieced together pretty nicely.
One thing I like about it is that it doesn’t have a particular main character, everyone is a main character in themselves and everyone gets their own share of screen time
Also everyone is directly or indirectly connected with each other by a thread of a common storyline so incase you heard that it doesn’t have a plot....Well, it clearly does..
But yeah it doesn’t have a ‘concrete’ storyline I guess? Well I’ve just seen the first season as of now so can’t really say about that...
Also, the opening and ending songs are great! The transitions in opening songs depict the connections of characters that I’m talking about, very nicely!
So do give it a try~!
Can’t wait to watch other seasons ^^
