Third Season of 'Isekai Quartet' Announced
The official website for the Isekai Quartet anime series announced a third season and revealed the main staff, cast, and a teaser visual (pictured) on Friday.
Seiichirou Yamashita joins the cast as Cid Kagenou from the Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! (The Eminence in Shadow) anime series.
Minoru Ashina (Isekai Quartet) returns to direct and pen the script at Studio PuYUKAI. Minoru Takehara (Yoru wa Neko to Issho) also returns as character designer and chief animation director, as well as Ruka Kawada (Koori Zokusei Danshi to Cool na Douryou Joshi) as music composer.
Isekai Quartet is a chibi-style crossover between the Overlord, Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!), Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-), and Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil) franchises. The first season aired in twelve 12-minute episodes in Spring 2019. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles while Funimation streamed an English dub.
The second season, which also features characters from Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero) and Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tsueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru (Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious), aired during Winter 2020. Crunchyroll streamed the show as it aired in Japan. Funimation also streamed an English dub.
A sequel movie, titled Another World, was released in Japanese theaters in June 2022.
